Geneva, November 12, 2020 – The Jury of the GPHG Award Ceremony, formed of the greatest specialists in watchmaking, awarded not one but two prizes to the House of BOVET.

The Ladies’ Watch Award went to the Miss Audrey and the Mechanical Exception Award to the Récital 26 Brainstorm Chapter Two.

The Jury at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, recognized the Miss Audrey as the representation of the House of Bovet’s excellency in the decorative arts.

The Miss Audrey is a stainless steel diamond-set timepiece, adorned with a deep green enamel guilloché dial, featuring the ingenious Amadeo® system that allows the timepiece to be worn as a wristwatch, as a pendant on a beautiful jade pearl necklace, or, a table clock.

Mr. Raffy, owner of the House of BOVET 1822, was present to receive this prestigious award: “Housed in a unique case, the Miss Audrey is equipped with the Amadeo® system with its magnificent versatility that has often been copied but never equaled. I salute our crafstmen who are rewarded tonight, thanks to you. I greet them with affection for their exemplary dignity in this period of health crisis, because they have never stopped working to defend our watchmaking art, even if the circumstances were not easy. I thank them from the bottom of my heart.”

The panel’s watchmakers, journalists, retailers, collectors, and designers, applauded the imagination, innovation, engineering, and manufacturing of the House of Bovet, by once again awarding the Récital 26 Brainstorm Chapter Two in the Mechanical Exception category.

This patented double-face flying tourbillon, universal time-zone, moon-phase, and five days’ power reserve, concentrates a rigorously precise measurement of time and a harmonious combination of fine artisanal watchmaking with the noblest expression of the decorative arts.

The Brainstorm Chapter Two is the second timepiece in the Bovet collection to be fitted in a sapphire crystal case, with its emblematic writing-slope shape. The design of the writing-slope case offers complete transparency allowing for the movement to show from every angle, as well as it optimizes the volume in the case, giving more space for additional functionalities, chronometry, reliability, and readability.

Moreover, the dômed dial at noon, which is available in blue or green translucent quartz, blue aventurine glass, or in a luminescent imperial yellow, displays the hours and minutes of local time. The seconds are read by an index fixed on the tourbillon itself placed at 6 o’clock, which makes a complete revolution every 60 seconds. Located at 3 o’clock, another dôme displays a second time-zone. On it are displayed the names of the 24 cities representing the 24 timezones. The dôme makes a complete revolution as it scans the 24-hour graduation of the basering, and a three-dimensional V-shaped needle allows the collector to select the displayed time-zone. This clever and innovative design, united with the dôme, allows for optimal readability, despite the reduced diameter of the entire display. In addition, this new display offers the world-time function, which allows for the time in each of the 24 time-zones to be read simultaneously.

Both Awards ultimately recognize the tenacity with which Mr. Pascal Raffy, owner of The House of Bovet, perpetuates the artistic crafts and engineering brilliance, and honors the House’s 80 employees and artisans who combine their talents to write the history of time.

About the House of BOVET 1822
