As the Official Timekeeper of the 79th Bol d’Or Mirabaud, Hublot unveils its limited-edition Classic Fusion Chronograph Bol d’Or Mirabaud 2017
For the fifth year running, Hublot is a sponsor and official timekeeper of the Bol d’Or Mirabaud. This prestigious competition allows Hublot to demonstrate its attachment to
its roots in Geneva and its love of sailing. After all, how could it be otherwise with a name like ‘Hublot’, which means ‘porthole’ in French?
Pitting skilled yachtsmen and women against each other, the winds, and themselves, the Bol d’Or Mirabaud is a perfect reflection of the Hublot philosophy. As tradition
dictates, the competitors set sail from Port Noir in Geneva at 10 a.m. on Saturday, 17 June. They sailed the 66.5 nautical miles — 123 kilometres — journey from Port Noir to
Bouveret and back again. No less than 100 volunteers and 20 boats from the Geneva Yacht Club supervised over 500 single-hull and multihull sailing boats that were enrolled. Many international sailors were also be taking part in the event.
The thousands of spectators who always attend could watch the legendary start from the banks of Lake Geneva, where Hublot created a pop-up store. For those who were sadly unable to attend, a live video and map showing the progress of the competitors was available on the website and the Bol d’Or Mirabaud YouTube channel. Onboard cameras allowed you to experience the competition as if you were there.
This wave of passion has also inspired Hublot to produce an exclusive timepiece that will only be produced in 79 editions — the Classic Fusion Chronograph Bol d’Or
Mirabaud 2017. Inspired by the marine universe, this chronograph made in Texalium and blue Ceramic perfectly suits this mythical trial of our region.
Hublot takes the opportunity of launching its new model Classic Fusion Chronograph Bol d’Or Mirabaud 2017 to offer its heartfelt congratulations to the Alinghi team, winner of the Bol d’Or Challenge, Syz & Co, winner of the Bol de Vermeil Challenge and CDE.CH, winner of the ACVL-SRS Trophy. The three teams received the Classic Fusion Chronograph Bol d’Or Mirabaud 2017.
