“The Bol d’Or Mirabaud and Hublot are an obvious fit. The event represents our Swissitude, our attachment to the region, and the natural link between the name of our brand and the nautical world (Ed. as ‘hublot’ means porthole in French). It echoes our philosophy – “First, Unique, Different”. As the largest inland lake regatta in the world, it embodies the innovative spirit that drives our country. It is a competition that saw the birth of the world’s first carbon fibre mast. With monohulls, multihulls and hydrofoils, its strength and its difference come from its diversity. Together, we share a passion, one that leads to technical revolutions, to transcendence and to this ultimate quest for performance.”
Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of HUBLOT

ALL SAILS SET FOR HUBLOT

Partner of the 80th edition of the Bol d’Or Mirabaud, Hublot is unveiling its Classic Fusion Chronograph Bol d’Or Mirabaud 2018 watch, in a numbered edition of 80 models. A chronograph in blue ceramic in the colours of the Genevan waters, its dial and strap are adorned with the material of choice for boats—carbon fibre. The case back reveals a sapphire cut-out drawing of Lake Geneva, a prestigious body of water that is admired all over the world and that gave the Bol
d’Or its status as the largest inland lake regatta in the world. On the starting line, Saturday 9 June at 10.00 a.m., there will be over 500 boats, 3,000 crew members and thousands of spectators.

For the sixth consecutive year, Hublot is partner and Official Timekeeper of the Bol d’Or Mirabaud. A prestigious competition—the largest inland lake regatta in the world, joins the two extremities of Lake Geneva, from Geneva to Le Bouveret. Bringing together seasoned sailors, competing against each other and against the winds, but also against themselves, the Bol d’Or Mirabaud perfectly reflects Hublot’s philosophy.

Whether on the shores of Lake Geneva in the heart of its pop-up store, on the water aboard its Hublot boats, or remotely via live video and geo-tracking the competitors on the Bol d’Or Mirabaud YouTube channel and on the website www.boldormirabaud.ch, the legendary start of the race marked by a cannon
shot on Saturday 9 June at 10.00am will once again offer up its fascinating show for the greatest pleasure of thousands of spectators. To experience the race from the inside, on-board cameras will turn you into a virtual crewmember on the Genevan waters with their unpredictable character.

With sponsoring, timekeeping and an exclusive model, Hublot has made a multi-faceted commitment to the Bol d’Or Mirabaud. In tribute to this 80th edition, the Classic Fusion Chronograph Bol d’Or Mirabaud 2018 has been produced in a run of 80 numbered pieces. Ceramic, carbon fibre and rubber unite for a watch that asserts Hublot’s Art of Fusion. Bearing the nuances of the depths of the Genevan waters, its case is cut out of blue ceramic. Another material that takes pride of place is carbon fibre. A favoured material both for sailors and Hublot, it displays its distinctive character, lightness and shock resistance on the dial and strap of the Classic Fusion Chronograph Bol d’Or Mirabaud 2018.

On the wrist or on the water, the new record(s) will be measured in Hublot time on this 80th edition and set down in history forever.

At the end of the race, the winners of the Bol d’Or (Gold Cup) Challenge, the Bol de Vermeil (Vermeil Cup) Challenge and the ACVL-SRS Trophy will receive a Hublot watch—the fourth edition of the Classic Fusion Chronograph Bol d’Or Mirabaud.
