June 8, 2017 [Montreal, Canada] – Hublot hosted legendary driver Kimi Räikkönen and Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal Maurizio Arrivabene at the Château d’Ivoire boutique in Montreal, for the debut of the Big Bang Ferrari collection in Canada. Select media, clients, and friends of Ferrari, Château d’Ivoire, and Hublot joined Hublot of North America Managing Director, Jean-François Sberro, for comments on the newest collection from the partnership between the automotive and horological giants.
Guests were introduced to Kimi by hostess Mariam Khan, and were treated to a question-and-answer segment in anticipation of the prestigious Canadian Grand Prix occurring this weekend.
Jean-François Sberro, Managing Director, Hublot of America, commented, “It is an honor to be joined by Kimi and to be hosted by Mariam Khan and Messrs. Suhail and Mounzer Kaidbey at the Château d’Ivoire boutique, in the continuation of a partnership that reflects both Hublot and Ferrari’s dedication to innovation and excellency through the development of a truly standout collection: The Big Bang Ferrari.”
The latest timepieces, stemming from the successful collaboration between Hublot and Ferrari since November 2011, which includes Hublot being the Official Timekeeper of Ferrari & Official Watch of the Scuderia Ferrari, incorporates inspiration and design cues from the most recent Ferrari models. Hublot has completely transformed the contours of its iconic Big Bang to incorporate many key Ferrari elements down to the smallest details, while retaining its much praised UNICO manufacture self-winding flyback chronograph movement.
Key features include a 3-dimensional dial minute counter and date window at 3 o’clock closely resembles a tachometer and the style of the date is a close replica of Ferrari’s signature speedometer. The Prancing Horse logo features discreetly at 6 o’clock. At 9 o’clock, the seconds counter is in the shape of an air extractor. A red line detail along the case appears like the groove on a LeFerrari, and elongated push-buttons are fixed to a rotating staff like the pedals on a car. The patented one-click deployant strap system allows the wearer to personalize the timepiece himself, with a selection of straps referencing Ferrari’s interiors, including those made of black alcantara on black rubber, with red over-stitching, as well as a classic black Schedoni leather version. The limited-edition collection, is available in unidirectional carbon, titanium, and the brand’s proprietary King Gold.
