To mark the on-going partnership between Hublot and Harrods a new and exclusive Hublot Big Bang Unico Sapphire Harrods was unveiled, limited to 15 pieces.
15th October 2020 – Hublot is delighted to announce the launch of the Big Bang Unico Sapphire Harrods in partnership with one of the world’s leading department stores, Harrods. The timepiece embodies Hublot’s philosophy to “Be First, Different and Unique”.
The model of 330 components includes a 45mm polished sapphire crystal case and striking SAXEM bezel, which pays tribute to Harrods by incorporating the luxury department store’s signature colour green. SAXEM (Sapphire Aluminium oXide and rare Earth Mineral) is a high-tech material that was first used in a watchcase by Hublot in 2019, and combines peerless resistance with a brilliance that comes close to that of a diamond.
In order to obtain this unparalleled shade of green, transparency and radiance, the Hublot manufacture – an expert in the concept of fusion – mixed aluminium oxide, the basic component of sapphire, with rare-earth elements like thulium and holmium as well as chromium. The resulting material is both harder than emerald (which is too soft to be machined) and endowed with a brilliance that is greater than that of sapphire.
Behind its modern camouflage design dial, the watch proudly houses Hublot’s own UNICO Manufacture movement and features the Harrods logo on the sapphire case-back. With two interchangeable straps that use Hublot’s patented one-click system, wearers can change between a transparent lined rubber strap and a camouflage strap in a single click.
The 15 special edition models will come in an exclusive box specifically designed for the collection, and are available exclusively in the Hublot Boutique in the Harrods Fine Watch Room, located on the lower ground floor.

On the very same day as seeing it in the iconic Harrods Christmas display, and only steps away in the Hublot Boutique in the Fine Watch room, customers will have the opportunity to try on and purchase the exclusive timepiece.
