As the two companies celebrate 7 years of a Close and productive partnership, the “Rosso Corso” Ferrari now flows through the veins of Hublot’s materials. Unique and different, this time Hublot turns its innovative spirit to ceramics. With a bezel cut from a new material – a brightly coloured ceramic in Ferrari red – Hublot adds another world first to its ever-growing list of innovations.
Originally, Ferrari red symbolised the primary purpose of racing cars – competition. This spirit of excellence and performance is what drives both Hublot and Ferrari to constantly take on fresh challenges. For 7 years, the partnership between Hublot and Ferrari has pushed the boundaries of resistance, creativity and innovation. From high-performance engines to futuristic three-dimensional forms, superlatives are never out of place when bringing time to life. By blending style and function, Hublot’s Metallurgy & Materials laboratory is constantly creating and reinventing high-tech materials and innovative alloys.
AN ULTRA-POWERFUL RED CERAMIC BEZEL
In 2018, Hublot proudly presents its ceramic bezels, designed and produced in-house exclusively, in striking Ferrari red. The ceramic has been patent-protected. In a dual tour de force, innovations have been made in both the material and the manufacturing process, resulting in a coloured ceramic that is harder than traditional ceramics.
The Big Bang Ferrari Red Ceramic is a limited edition of 500. Its 45mm carbon case houses the UNICO HUB1241 manufactured movement under a sapphire dial. The watch displays the new contours of the Big Bang Unico model that was redesigned last year by Ferrari and Hublot: a minute counter designed to reflect the elements of the Ferrari’s rev counter, a date aperture with the look of a gear lever; the prancing horse at 6 o’ clock, and finally a second counter designed to look like an air vent at 9 o’clock. Continuing its tone-on-tone effect, the watchstrap consists of black Alcantara stitched onto black rubber. All eyes are drawn to the attention-grabbing ceramic bezel in Ferrari red. This brightly coloured ceramic is a major breakthrough, once again demonstrating how Hublot is constantly developing its Art of Fusion.
The story continues… see you at Baselworld!
