Reservoir Sonograph Chronograph Turns To Vintage Hi-Fi For Inspiration

Reservoir has dropped its first chronograph which takes its design language from vintage analogue audio equipment.

The 43mm Reservoir Sonomaster Chronograph features two horizontal retrograde scales on either side of its dial, measuring seconds and date, echoing the two VU meters found on the Luxman M10 MkII stereo amplifier, with its black needles against cream dials.

The seconds hand travels from 0-30 before resetting itself every half-minute, while the date hand resets at the end of every month. The chronograph functions are indicated using a central seconds hand, a 30-minute counter at the 12 o’clock position and 12-hour counter at the six o’clock.

Powering the watch is the new RSV-Bi120 automatic calibre, based on La Joux-Perret’s column wheel-controlled LJP-L1C0.

Cased in brushed 316L stainless steel, the Sonomaster Chronograph features smooth pushers and crown based on amplifier control selectors and Super-LumiNova-treated hands. A sapphire crystal caseback shows off the movement.

The Sonomaster Chronograph drops at the end of the month via Reservoir retailers, priced $7,320 USD.
