When it comes to annual meets, there are countless events globally catered to watch enthusiasts. Launched as a celebration of horological innovation and legacy, none come close to the newcomer on the scene, Dubai Watch Week.

Despite only launching in 2015, its infancy doesn’t take away from its prestige in the world of luxury horology. Having recently won the Special Jury Prize at the 2021 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, its presence in the industry is important now more than ever. Speaking on the exponential growth of the event, Director General of DWW, Hind Seddiqi says, “The success of Dubai Watch Week 2021 is a testament to the importance of such an event in the UAE.” She continues, “We witnessed a rising interest among watch enthusiasts, collectors, and the general public, who are looking for a community-driven platform that focuses on education.”

With an 81% increase in visitors in 2021 compared to 2019 and over 45 participating brands ranging from Audemars Piguet to Hublot, DWW has welcomed everyone from prominent figures in the region to illustrious global celebrities. Boasting an event space spanning an immense 70,000 sqm in the heart of the Dubai International Financial Centre, last year’s five-day event hosted a variety of activations including a private screening of “Making Time” — a documentary told through the lens of five influentials horologists as well as the Horology Forum panel discussions, exhibitions and masterclasses.

As well as being a hub for fans of horology to learn and explore, 13 new launches were unveiled at the DWW 2021 event including the Legacy Machine FlyingT Allegra, MB&F‘s unique work of art in collaboration with Bvlgari, and Breitling’s colorful Aerospace Evo.
